Title:
    B-FIELD DEMO, OHP
Description:
    Demonstrates the magnetic field caused by a current flowing through a conductor.
Equipment:
    1. Magnetic field demonstrator
    2. 4 compasses (transparent type)
    3. HBS power supply
    4. Magna probe
    5. 2 long BB leads
    6. 2 spade adaptors
    7. Extension cord


    Need overhead projector in room
Procedure:
    1. Place the demonstrator on the overhead.
    2. Place the compasses on the Plexiglas circle. Connect the demonstrator to the power supply and turn it on.
    3. Note the deflection of the compasses.
    4. Turn the circle and note the changing position of the needles.
    5. As an option, you can hang the bar magnet from the top of the wire, as shown. It will deflect when the power is turned on.
