Demonstrates that a bare light filament can be turned on in a liquid nitrogen filled container without blowing out.
Equipment:
1. LN2 Light bulb- Handle with CARE!
2. Large Dewer of LN2 and foam
3. 1000 ml Beaker (Tall form)
Procedure:
1. Fill beaker 2/3 full with LN2.
2. Dip light bulb without glass casing into LN2 and turn the light on.
CAUTION: Do Not Turn the Light bulb on before placing into LN2!!
Light bulb may not have been properly turned off from last use- please place in liquid prior to plugging in as well.
